Bow ties and braces

As you may know from looking at my blog before I have an undeniable love for bow ties and braces and all things geeky. As of late I have not posted or worn any such outfits and so I decided today would be the day! I miss my bow ties, they have been stored away for far too long and it is my responsibility to see to it that they are not forgotten. I browsed through some images and came across one in particular- note that this image was in fact menswear, and as a result I had to put my own hijabi twist to the outfit..... "Menswear Hijabified". Hope you like this outfit as much as I did :).

Everything is pretty much the same apart from the fact that I had chosen to wear a maxi skirt as opposed to jeans. I also wore braces which cannot be seen in this picture.

Flower Power

So, as the weather takes a turn better, in Britain everyone pretty much takes advantage of the few minutes of sunshine which are bestowed upon us. And what better way is there to brave the sun, than with floral prints- a must have staple in any girls wardrobe whether it be a top, bottom or even accessories.. Personally prints in particular are becoming a favourite and on the top of my list of desired prints it has to be the infamous floral pattern. Below I have selected a few of my most-loved floral outfits....

Layering and floral: .. (This was a winter look- who says floral is just to be seen during summer?? LOL) as you can tell my maxi skirt is quite colourful and as a result there was no need to overdo the outfit in the colour department. Hence, I teamed the outfit with the colour black in effect this allows the floral design to stand out more and be more prominent.

olive blazer- Forever 21
Leather jacket- Miss selfridge

This is another outfit with the same skirt, I added a few more accessories such as the statement necklace and I also wore a khaki hijab to match some of the colours in the skirt. I would recommend this look for those of you who prefer a much more formal look. this look is also more suited for summer than the outfit before it.

Another example of a floral outfit... floral printed blazers. dress down by pairing the blazer with head-to-toe black or dress up and be daring!!! the choice is totally upto you. I personally think this blazer could suit anyone. depends on your own personal preference as to how you would wear it.

BLAZER- River Island

Once again I have paired the floral print with black allowing it to stand out, a very simple but effective look.

Here I have worn the same maxi skirt but this time paired it with a white blazer and tan bag perfect for a summery look.... adding light colours such as white tend to make any outfit more suitable for summer.

Yet another look with a floral blazer... one of my most favourite looks. mixing up the colours a little- be bold. although... this look is not recommended for summer as this look includes layering.

BLAZER- Topshop

OKAY, so technically this isn't floral but paisley print is near enough and a great alternative to floral prints (for those who are truly averse to anything with flowers) and i truly love this shirt, hence the need to share it LOL.

Typical Tropical

So, I bought this blazer from River Island and decided to base my outfit around it. Its such an amazing blazer with tropical colours hence the title... Really love this outfit, hope y'all do too.

One half of a whole

This outfit consisted of printed blazer, burnt orange scarf, mustard yellow blouse and a forest green chiffon maxi skirt.

With or without the geeks??

A close up of those leopard print geek glasses was in order..

I mustache you a question?!?

I was requested to post this outfit by a fellow instagrammer, and as you can probably tell by the title it follows the 'mustache' trend which still has not died down.. its definitely a craze worth investing in. This outfit also emanates comfort over all else. In the waging war between flats and heels, this time the glorious Nike blazers were victorious.. an outfit more suited to those of us who are going for the 'i just threw this on' (but it still looks fairly awesome) look.

This look consisted of the mustache/geek tee, denim shirt , chiffon maxi skirt and Nike blazers.

Olives, Peaches and Berries

Yup that's right food is my biggest inspiration LOL... Olive blazer, peach blouse and a berry coloured maxi-skirt were the choices for this particular outfit, they certainly work well together (the colour combo, not the actual edible foods I referred to... hehe) and I hope you agree too!!

I absolutely adore this olive blazer, it is now a staple piece in my wardrobe. the colour is gorgeous which is the thing that lured me towards it in the first place.. x

These laced up khaki heels perfectly matched the blazer and in hindsight it would have been a crime not to pair it with this outfit.

I also went for an African urban turban look with my scarf... wild I know, but I had a sudden jolt of inspiration and decided to go bold

Bow and Polka Dots

The Bow- so y'all know how I love my bow ties and it just so happens I came across this amazing one in Primark... paired with this polka dot shirt I bought from H&M it looked amazing. I absolutely love this look

Mustard and navy do look great together.. I paired the shirt with a black jumper because I did not want to overdo the outfit with the blue colour as I also wore a blue maxi-skirt (sometimes too much matching is no good) :/

The Bright and the Bold

I absolutely fell in love with bright bold statement colours this season. So you can imagine my delight when I stumbled across the perfect yellow blazer paired up with a pink blouse the outfit was already looking really good in my head. I could not possibly leave these purchases in the store to be picked up by a stranger, these items needed a good home (they would be safe in my hands... =] ). P.S I had to match my nails to the outfit LOL!!

I really love the way the yellow blazer compliments the pink .... my personal opinion = pink and yellow are a match made in heaven. Also, I did not wear many accessories as to overdo it and kept it simple.

My hijab/turban had little specks of the pink and yellow colours I was wearing but the outlining colour was black I did not want to overdose on the bright colours therefore the subtle hints of colour on the hijab was perfect.

Face of the day... eek its geek!

the colour did not pick up very well but I wore a navy maxi skirt which I felt suited the bright tones of yellow and pink :)

I couldnt resist...... matching nails!! Hehe x
